Take the Ultimate Head Trip! A new eTour of the Statue of Liberty makes it possible.
If you can’t visit the Statue of Liberty in person, don’t despair. If you’ve always wanted to get ‘inside’ Liberty’s head, now you can, virtually that is. The new eTour features and insider’s view of the crown, a video bird’s eye view of the statue, panoramic views of the harbor from the statue and the voices and words of the rangers and caretakers of Lady Liberty. The eTour is also a great way to listen, watch and learn more about the story behind making of the Statue of Liberty. You can learn about the symbolism residing in the original design of the statue.
Crown Reservations
The Statue of Liberty’s crown was closed to the public after the 9/11 attacks for safety and security reasons. This spring, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar announced that beginning on July 4, the American public would again be able to visit the crown. Crown reservations are sold out for the 4th, however reservations for available dates can be made through the park’s ferry concessioner, Statue Cruises
