Hollywood Walk of Fame 50th Anniversary
The Walk of Fame celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2010 and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is planning numerous events to mark this important anniversary. As of now, plans are being formulated for the following major projects:
February 8th, 2010 – This is the 50th anniversary of the start of construction on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. A committee has been working for more than four years to do major restoration on the Walk of Fame, where it is beginning to deteriorate. We hope to begin construction on this restoration of the Walk of Fame by February 8th. There may also be additional events scheduled that day. More information will be forthcoming.
July 2010 – The Chamber is planning for a street festival to allow the community to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Walk of Fame. Events will hopefully be scheduled to celebrate each of the five categories which the Walk of Fame honors.
November 2010 – You can’t have a 50th anniversary of the Walk of Fame without a grand Gala. Plans are moving forward to hold the Gala in November to mark the date of the completion of the Walk of Fame.
