Las Vegas: Sin City Gallery to stimulate the naughtier side of art
Grand Opening on February 3, 2011
LAS VEGAS, NV – January 9, 2011 – Sin City Gallery will stimulate arts and culture in Las Vegas by presenting daring and eclectic art from around the corner and around the world.
Sin City Gallery was created due to an overwhelming positive response to Dr. Laura Henkel’s tasteful yet edgy art exhibitions. Dr. Laura will draw upon her unique expertise to find and appraise sexy art and collectibles that her discerning clientele highly value in their personal collections. Sin City Gallery will celebrate it grand opening with an inaugural photography exhibition entitled “Dream Menagerie” by internationally acclaimed photographer Steve Diet Goedde on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at The Arts Factory.
Sin City Gallery is located off The Strip within The Arts Factory, the heart of the 18b Arts District. Dr. Laura states, “I am energized by the vibrancy of the 18b Arts District and Downtown Las Vegas’ thriving arts community. As a world-traveler, I find the area akin to a one of those undiscovered gems that one finds off the beaten path.” It is important for the gallery to be located in the true heart of Las Vegas’ arts and culture as Sin City Gallery is designed to accelerate the pulse of the arts community with our sophisticated exhibitions. Our patrons will enjoy the synergy that the area has to offer.”
Events scheduled this year include collaborations with Francois Dubeau and En Masse from Montreal; a collaboration with Femina Potens Art Gallery from San Francisco; a collaboration with The Arts Factory to exhibit the artwork of John Wayne Gacy to benefit the National Center for Victims of Crime in Washington, D.C.; and, many more collaborations with artists who will entice the senses and feed the mind. The “Dream Menagerie” exhibition by Steve Diet Goedde will encompass elements of fetish, fashion and classic Hollywood intrigue to provide a dreamy look into the world of modern glamour photography. The inaugural exhibition will commence on Thursday, February 3, 2011, with an artist reception with Goedde to follow on Friday, February 4, 2010 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm.
