Arizona Barbecue Festival: Scottsdale serves up serious BBQ
Make room for some down home grub at the Arizona Barbecue Festival on March 26, 2011.
Held at the Scottsdale Waterfront in downtown, this event brings championship BBQ teams from all over the map to showcase their recipes and compete for $20,000 in cash prizes.
In between bites, head over to Whiskey Row, which will have more than 100 types of whiskeys, bourbons, and single malts as well as freshly rolled cigars.
The event also will have BBQ seminars, cooking demonstrations, live music and a kids’ zone.
If that isn’t enough BBQ to tide you over, mosey down to Big Earl’s BBQ. Headed up by Chef James Porter of Petite Maison , the restaurant opened Feb. 5, 2011, and showcases different regional barbecues like Texas-style brisket and St. Louis pork ribs. Other menu items include BBQ oysters, Catfish Po’Boy and roasted beef bone marrow with pickled okra.
